The Executive Management Committee of ICOZA comprises of Dr. Chris Jardine, Mr. Ermano Quartero, Mr. Rodney de Koch is the CEO, Mr. Manie Eagar is the General Manager and Mr. Chetan Goshalia (Gosh) is the Sales Manager of ICOZA.

Dr. Chris Jardine is the group executive for operations at the J&J Group, an investment and management company with interests in various companies in the technology and financial sectors. He is also Chairman of Faritec. He was formerly an Executive Director at Transnet (South Africa's Transport utility) with responsibility for the company"s technology and property businesses and one of SA's top TMT black executives. This role included direct responsibility for Transtel and B2Bafrica, as well as oversight roles for Transnet"s investments in Arivia.kom, M-Cell and the V&A Waterfront. 

He also holds directorships in a number of Transnet subsidiaries and associates (including the chairmanship of Transtel, a key partner to the New Network Operator venture of Transnet and Eskom). He holds BSc and MSc degrees in computer science and a PhD in information technology, all from George Mason University in Virginia, in the US.

 

Mr. de Koch has been in the IT industry for the last 20 years. He started his IT career in operations in the early eighties. Over the years he served in multiple IT capacities from programmer, Unix technical specialist, business analyst, pre-sales consultant, product specialist, product manager, sales executive and sales & marketing manager. Mr. de Koch left the shores of South Africa for a number of years working abroad. He also had a spell in the Middle East as a senior management consultant for IBM, based in Saudi Arabia. 

In 1999, Mr. de Koch moved to London in the capacity as European Sales Manager focusing on the European ISP/ASP market. He relocated to Paris, France focussing on ISP/ASP solutions within companies such as France Telecom, Societies Generale, Deutsche Telecom, Credit Agricole, Renault, KPNQwest, Vodafone, One-2-One and British Gas. Upon his return to South Africa, Mr. de Koch was assigned from SITA to the position as Director: Business Information Planning and Integration, and for short periods, acting CIO for the Department of Foreign Affairs. In his last assignment at SITA he served as acting manager for Systems Analysis and Design for SITA-Civilian in the Business Solutions and Architecture section.

 

Manie Eagar joined the J&J Group in 1999 as a business development manager to manage and develop the new business ventures of the J&J Group, including the One Card Systems financial management services, Miraculum, Consilience and now the ICOZA venture. He acted as the head of the marketing and business development division of Consilience Technologies, a joint venture initiative of the J&J Group and Tata Infotech Limited. Consilience Technologies is a total systems integrator offering IT solutions to all sectors of the South African and African markets. 

Before joining J and J Group, he has for a prior 10 years acted as a managing consultant to IAETES Trust (Eskom), Sentech, Eskom Corporate, the Premier Group, M-NET, SABC, the Africa Growth Network (ABSA), Standard Bank, Dimension Data (e-commerce consulting), INTEC College, the LCC Rothschild Bank (Monaco) and Investec Merchant Bank in the context of e-business and e-commerce solutions, knowledge management implementation strategies; corporate communications and transformation programmes, IT and telecommunications services. He was the executive director of a leading South African distance-learning agency, Open Learning Systems Education Trust (OLSET) with an extensive experience of the latest technology supported learning solutions to South Africa.

 

Sathia Pather joined Internet Solutions in April 2001 as an Account Manager. 

Prior to this, he was Sales Manager for Capi International, an international duty-free retailing company and launched their highly successful South African operation, after training in Europe. He was a Store Manager with the Wooltru group for nearly 7 years, heading up six stores during this time.

 

Prince Grootboom, a former educator for 14 years prior to joining ICOZA, describes himself as a technically orientated, and business driven individual that thrives on and is passionate about service delivery, hence his position as Service Delivery Manager at ICOZA.

During his time in the education sector, he played a major role in a management capacity in the establishment and implementation of a number of post 1994 education reforms at site and provincial level. He has spent a total of 10 years within the retail industry, during his student years with Truworths and Edgars Stores.

Prince holds a BA degree and HDE with the University of the Western Cape and a Human Resources Management qualification through Wits Technikon.
